On 5th June, Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology (MBSCET), Jammu, in association with ICT Academy, organized Seminar on “Applications of Artificial Intelligence”. The event commenced with the welcome speech by Ms. Marvi Abrol (Asst. Prof.) Computer Science & Engineering who welcomed the dignitaries and participants. The distinguished guests were honored with saplings as a token of respect and gratitude.
The event commenced with an introductory address by Mr. Ajaz Yousuf, Sr. Relationship Manager – Academic Operations, ICT Academy, highlighted the vision, initiatives, and role of ICT Academy in bridging the gap between academia and industry while preparing students for emerging technologies and future career opportunities.
The first session started with Mr. Vivek Mahajan, Co-Founder of Bookenza and an experienced technology professional who focused on Generative Artificial Intelligence and its practical applications across various sectors including agriculture, healthcare, education, business, and software development. Through engaging live demonstrations, he introduced students to cutting-edge AI tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Google Veo and many more, explaining how these technologies can be effectively utilized for research, productivity enhancement, content creation, learning, and problem-solving. To encourage hands-on learning, he also shared a workbook containing practical exercises and activities related to AI tools and applications.
The second session conducted by Ms. Annanya Sharma, Programs Manager – Staff Solution Engineer, Oracle (JAPAC Region), delivered an insightful presentation covering the evolution of Artificial Intelligence, types of AI based on capabilities, Agentic AI and its use cases, Vibe Coding, and several innovative AI applications including AI Digital Twins, AI in Cybersecurity, Personalized Learning, and Scientific Discoveries. She further discussed the growing influence of AI on careers and employment, highlighting both opportunities and challenges while sharing valuable insights into future trends that are expected to shape the next generation of technological innovation.
Ms. Ridhika Sharma, faculty Coordinator ICT from MBSCET efficiently coordinated the seminar, whose efforts in planning and organizing the event ensured its smooth execution. Special appreciation was also extended to Mr. Ajaz Yousuf, ICT Academy Coordinator, for his continuous support, coordination, and valuable contribution in facilitating the collaboration between ICT Academy and MBSCET for the successful conduct of the seminar.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Amrik Singh (Principal), who expressed gratitude to ICT Academy, the invited speakers, faculty members, organizers, and students for making the event a grand success. In his concluding remarks, he encouraged students to move beyond merely learning existing technologies and instead strive to build technologies that can solve real-world problems and contribute to innovation and societal progress.
The event was graced by Dr. Rajinder Singh (Administrator), Prof. Parveen Singh (Vice Principal), Mr. H.S. Gill (DSW), HOD CSE, IT and faculty members of the Computer Science and IT Department, and a large gathering of students.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively interacted with the speakers and gained valuable exposure to emerging AI technologies and their real-world applications.
