Electronics & communication engineering is the utilization of science and math applied to practical problems in the field of communications. Electronic communications engineers engage in research, design, development and testing of the electronic equipment used in various communications systems. Multiple career paths are available within the realm of Electronics & Communications engineering.  Today’s world is coming up with new technological advancements every day. These new developments are undertaken by the engineers turned scientists. Having a further look at the career prospects, there is bound to be huge demand for competent engineers in electronic industry to cope the demand in technology. ECE also have several job openings & good pay-packages as compared to other branches. With the evolution of the computer age, E&C has crept into every sphere of human life, thus increasing its scope manifolds. Electronics is now a part of our everyday life, from your pocket FM radio to televisions, computers, mobile phones and even the high-end satellites. The developments of various fields like nanotechnology, robotics, high speed automated processors in embedded systems and image processors provides a budding engineer wide range of opportunities Electronics and Communication Engineering jobs represent over 50% of all available jobs in engineering. In India 60 % of the government jobs are from Electronics and Communication Engineering sector. An ECE student can enter in to the job market of Computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, control engineering, robotics, mechanical engineering, VHDL, VLSI. But any branch of other engineering student cannot enter in to the Electronics and Communication Engineering job market. Employment of Electronics & Communication engineers is projected to grow 4 percent between 2012 to 2022. Job growth is expected because of E & C engineers’ versatility in developing and applying emerging technologies. The rapid pace of technological innovation and development will likely drive demand for electrical and electronics engineers in research and development, an area in which engineering expertise will be needed to develop distribution system related to new technologies. Now communication having become important segment of day to day lives and with both public and private players operating in this area resulting in enhanced job opportunities.
