Parents – Teacher Meeting is being organized at MBS College of Engineering & Technology on 28th Feb, 2026 for all the branches of Engineering. The purpose of this interaction is to strengthen the academic partnership between the institution and the parents, and to collectively support the holistic development of our students.

Engineering education is not limited to classroom instruction; it encompasses practical learning, research exposure, skill development, discipline, and character building. A meaningful dialogue between parents and teachers enables us to better understand each student’s academic progress, attendance, behaviour, career aspirations, and areas requiring improvement.

The Purpose of the PTM is to:

  • Discuss academic performance and internal assessment results.

  • Review attendance and participation in laboratory and project work.

  • Address concerns related to discipline, mentoring, and career guidance.

  • Encourage collaborative efforts for students’ overall growth.

 Inter-Branch Cricket Tournament in MBS College of Engineering College is starting from 28th Feb, 2026. This sporting event aims to promote unity, teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition among students of various branches.

Engineering education demands dedication and intellectual rigor; however, participation in sports is equally essential for maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and leadership qualities.

This tournament will provide a platform for students from different branches to interact beyond classrooms and laboratories. We appreciate the efforts of the organizing committee, faculty coordinators, and student volunteers who have worked diligently to make this event possible.

Let us come together to celebrate talent, teamwork, and the spirit of healthy competition.

MBS Organized Youth Parliament 2026

Youth Parliament

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology organized Youth Parliament 2026 in the college auditorium with great enthusiasm and active participation from students.

The event commenced with a welcome and opening address by Prof. Praveen Singh (Dean Academics), in his address, he highlighted the importance of Youth Parliament as a platform for students to understand democratic values, develop leadership qualities, and enhance their debating and analytical skills. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee comprising students of the 6th Semester, CSE Department, under the leadership of Ms. Jasdeep Kour, for successfully organizing the event.

A total of 40 students participated in the Youth Parliament Session. Among them, 20 students represented the Ruling Party and 20 students represented the Opposition Party, replicating the structure of a democratic parliamentary system. The participants engaged in a meaningful and thought-provoking debate on the agenda “National Security & Cyber Laws – Regulation of Social Media for Minors.” The discussions reflected the students’ awareness of contemporary national issues and their ability to present logical arguments in a parliamentary manner.

The event provided an excellent platform for students to express their views, strengthen their public speaking abilities, and understand the functioning of democratic institutions.

The session concluded with an address by the Principal, Prof.(Dr.) Amrik Singh, who appreciated the initiative taken by the students and encouraged them to continue participating in such academic and intellectual activities. He emphasized that events like Youth Parliament help in shaping students into responsible and aware citizens.

Following the concluding address, prizes were distributed to the best performers and participants in recognition of their outstanding performance during the debate.

The event concluded successfully with active participation and appreciation from faculty members and students.

MBS College Organized Blood Donation Camp in Collaboration with J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society

The NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, in collaboration with J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society, organized a Blood Donation Camp at the college campus on 28th Feb 2026. The initiative brought together students, staff, and management in support of this noble and life-saving cause. The drive witnessed an impressive turnout and enthusiastic participation from volunteers across departments.

The camp was coordinated by the NSS Unit under the leadership of Ripudaman Singh (Assistant Professor), Department of Mechanical Engineering. A medical team led by Dr. Rajat Kumar from Government Medical College, Jammu supervised the camp and provided essential medical support, ensuring that the donation process was conducted safely and efficiently.

Students and staff members donated blood generously, demonstrating compassion, solidarity, and a strong sense of social responsibility. A large number of first-year students participated wholeheartedly in the camp. The faculty of the Applied Sciences and Humanities Department, headed by Ms. Sarbjeet Kour, actively assisted in mobilizing donors, managing registrations, and extending logistical support throughout the event.

This altruistic effort will significantly benefit individuals suffering from thalassemia who require regular blood transfusions. Er. Sudhir Sethi, President of the J& K thalassemia welfare society, played a key role in coordinating the camp and expressed gratitude to the college for its continued support.

Gurnam Singh, Chairman of the institution, appreciated the organizing team for their dedicated efforts. Prof. Praveen Singh Dean Academics, and convener of event also donated blood. Dr. Amrik Singh, In-charge Principal, along with Mr. H. S. Gill (DSW), and all Heads of Departments, lauded the donors for their humanitarian spirit and commitment to the welfare of society.

The event concluded with a message encouraging continued participation in such social initiatives, reaffirming the institution’s dedication to community service and nation-building.

 

MBSCET Organizes Fresher Party

Fresher Party 2025 Batch

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology organized a Fresher Party to formally welcome the newly admitted 2025 batch students. The event was organised by the second year students of all branches, who enthusiastically hosted the programme to extend a warm welcome to their juniors.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof.(Dr.) Amrik Singh (incharge Principal) highlighting the significance of fresher parties in strengthening the bond between seniors and juniors and formally inducting the new students into the family of technocrats at the college. He also emphasized that such events play an important role in building confidence, encouraging interaction, and fostering a spirit of togetherness among students.

Prof. Parveen Singh (Dean Academics) in his address advised the students to maintain a balanced life by managing time effectively – between academic, personal growth and explore every opportunity available to shape their career.

The event featured a variety of cultural performances, interactive activities, music, dance performances, and entertainment programmes, which created a lively and cheerful atmosphere. The fresher’s were given an opportunity to introduce themselves, share their talents, and interact with their seniors as well as faculty members, making the event memorable for everyone present.

One of the highlight of the event was the Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher competition, where students showcased their confidence, talent, and personality. Mr. Krishna Lamba and Ms. Hargun Kour was titled with Mr. & Ms. Fresher.

The Program was Coordinated by Ms. Jasmine Kour (Asst. Prof) and Dr. Nitasha Jamwal (Asst. Prof.) along with their teams members. The other faculty members of APSH Department put in their efforts to make this occasion a grand success. Ms. Sarbjeet Kour (HOD APSH), coordinated the event and ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.

The entire programme was gracefully anchored by Joyce Kour and Asis Kour, students of the 2nd year CSE Department, who conducted the event with great confidence and enthusiasm, keeping the audience engaged throughout the programme.

MBS College Organizes Induction Programme 2025

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu, organized the Induction Programme for the newly admitted first-year students of the 2025 batch on 24th September 2025 in the college auditorium.

The programme commenced with the presentation of a bouquet to His Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji (Sole Trustee) by the Chairman, followed by the lighting of the traditional lamp by His Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji, S. Gurnam Singh (Chairman), S. Lakhbir Singh Bawa (Advisor), Dr. Nitin Ghawghawe (Principal), Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh (Vice Principal), and Prof. Parveen Singh (Dean Academics).

The formal session began with the address of Dr. Nitin Ghawghawe, who presented the college history along with achievement of the college over the years and elaborated the future plans for the upliftment of the college. He further motivated the students to pursue their passion for engineering with dedication and devotion and also exhorted parents to monitor the progress of their wards.

This was followed by Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh presentation, who highlighted the college infrastructure, with departmental facilities and scope of engineering in the discipline opted by the students and apprised them about importance of being Engineer.

Prof. Parveen Singh, in his presentation explained the course curriculum, academic policies, and evaluation process as per the rules and regulations of the University of Jammu.

Mr. M.K. Wali in his address apprised the students to remain regular and maintain their academic performance for achieving the desired academic goals.

Gurnam Singh in his address shared his vision for the institution and emphasized the commitment of MBSCET towards providing a conducive environment for the holistic growth and development of students. He also advised the parent to remain in close contact of the concerned teachers to know the academic status of their wards from time to time.

The session concluded with the blessings and guidance from His Holiness Srimaan Mahant Manjit Singh Ji. He emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and focused study for students. He reminded them that success in engineering and life comes from consistent effort, self-discipline, and commitment to their goals. He encouraged students to prioritize their education and strive to meet the expectations of their parents and the institution.

Dignitary present were Prof. Anmol Singh (Chairman SMSCE), Prof Hardev Singh, Mr. Bhupinder Singh (Chairman GHKPS)  and Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Badyal (Ex-Principal MBSCET). Other namely H.S. Gill (DSW), Prof. Abhijit Saini (HOD Mechanical), Dr. Ajay Damral (HOD EE), Mr. Mandeep Singh (HOD  Civil), Dr. Sanjeev Singh (T&P Officer), Mr. Ishpal Singh (Prof. of Practice) and faculty members were also present.

The programme was coordinated by Ms. Sarbjeet Kour (HoD APSH) and Ms. Jasmine Kaur (Asst. Prof APSH Department), along with the faculty members of the departments. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Sarbjeet Kour. The event was ably compared by Ms. Shalini Sharma (Asst. Prof. ECE Deptt).

Research Centre Inaugurated at MBS College of Engg. & Technology

Government of India has launched National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy in 2020. As a part of its implementation, All India Council of Technical Education New Delhi is encouraging the technical Institutions in India to undertake various research and innovation activities through the teaching faculty and students. Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu has taken the initiative by starting the Research & Consultancy Centre at its campus. Recently on 26th June 2025, His Holiness Srimaan Mahant Manjit Singh Ji, the Sole Trustee, inaugurated Research & Consultancy Centre. The Chairman S. Gurnam Singh ji and the Advisor S. Lakhbir Singh Bawa witnessed the event. Research & Consultancy Centre was planned under the guidance of newly joined Principal Dr. Nitin Ghawghawe. The center incharge Dr. Ajay Damral, Dean (Research & Consultancy) has given the shape to attain the objectives of Research Centre. Dr. Damral explained the various technologies to be undertaken for research and consultancy. Amongst the technologies to be developed, the research work on alternate renewable energy sources has been started. The other technologies based on which the research work will shortly be started are, the concept of white coal, solar PV applications for small gadgets, house hold water treatment unit etc. However, this list is not restricted and it will be more exhaustive. More number of innovative solutions through research will be given to need based problems. It is evident that MBS College of Engineering & Technology was established in 1999 and number of Engineers passed out from various disciplines are serving throughout the globe. As the Institute offers B.Tech Programme in Computer Science & Engg, Civil Engg, Electrical Engg, Electronics & Communication Engg, Information Technology and Mechanical Engg, the students will get exposure to learn the new age technology at this research center. Also in order to nurture the novel ideas of young student innovators and converting them into start-ups, the MBSCET will take the initiative. With the help of Research & Consultancy Centre, it is expected that number of research papers and patents will be published based on the technologies and innovations carried out at the Research & Consultancy Centre. The Center will not provide the innovation insight to researchers but also extend the services to industries and community. S. MBS College Celebrates Baisakhi Festival

Jammu, 17.04.2025 – The campus MBS College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu, was imbued with vibrant colors and joyous energy as students, faculty, and staff came together to celebrate Baisakhi—a festival that symbolizes not just the spirit of harvest and prosperity, but also serves as a powerful reminder of our rich cultural heritage, the valor of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the resilience of our farmers, and the sacrifices made by freedom fighters.

The celebration commenced with a warm and enthusiastic welcome address by Nitika Kashyap (6th CSE) and Joicepreet Kour (2nd CSE), setting the tone for a day filled with cultural pride and collective joy. Prof. Parveen Singh, Dean Academics, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of religious and cultural festivals in fostering unity and preserving our Heritage. Dr. Amrik Singh Incharge Principal was the guest of honour.

The festivities featured an impressive lineup of performances, including energetic Bhangra, graceful Giddha, soulful singing, expressive poetry, and engaging skits that showcased the rich cultural tapestry of Punjab and the spirit of togetherness.

A special highlight of the event was a storytelling segment where students shared personal reflections and stories on the significance of Baisakhi. These narratives touched on themes of gratitude, community bonding, and cultural identity, resonating deeply with the audience.

The event was thoughtfully organized by Ms. Saravjeet Kaur and Ms. Amarjiot Kour, Assistant Professors, CSE Department. The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Harpreet Kour (6th IT), who expressed gratitude to Hond TV for covering the event and to all the dignitaries, performers, and participants for their enthusiastic involvement and support.
