Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu organized Induction Program 2023-24 for newly admitted 2023 batch of Engineering students. With the blessing of his Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji, the induction program commenced with a symbolic ceremony of lighting of the lamp by the esteemed Chief Guest S. Gurnam Singh­­­, Chairman MBS College alongwith S. Lakhbir Singh Bawa (Advisor), Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Gupta (Director-cum-Principal), Prof. (Dr.) A. S. Sudan (Ex-Chairman MBS), Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Badyal (Ex-Principal MBS), Prof. Anmol Singh (Chairman SMSCE), S. Bhupinder Singh (Chairman GHPS), Prof. Hardev Singh (Chairman MMSIPS), Dr. Jaswant Singh (Chairman IGNOU Centre SMSCE), Dr. Netar Singh (Ex-Chairman SRSDC), Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh (Vice Principal MBS), Prof. Parveen Singh (Dean Academics MBS) and S. Hardip Singh Gill (DSW MBS).

Gurnam Singh Chairman MBS shared his valuable insight and future vision for the institution. He highlighted the college commitment in creating a conducive learning environment for its holistic development. Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar Gupta Principal in his address motivated and inspired the newly enrolled students to embrace their passion for engineering and strive for excellence in their studies. Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh Vice Principal presented an in-depth details of college infrastructure. Prof. Parveen Singh Dean Academics highlighted the course curriculum and academic policies.

The event concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Sarbjeet Kour (HOD APSH) to all the dignitaries and parents. The whole program was ably anchored by Ms. Surinder Kaur Bali (AP IT dept.) and Ms. Shivangi Gupta (AP CSE dept.).

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engg. & Technology celebrated Engineering Day today on 15/Sep/2023, an annual event that recognizes the significant contributions of engineers and their pivotal role in shaping the world we live in today.

The program commenced with focusing on the importance of engineering in shaping our modern society. One of the key highlights of the Engineering Day celebration was the lively speech competition with the inspiring theme, “Engineering Innovation and Latest Trends.” Participants showcased their critical thinking and analytical skills while sharing their perspectives on emerging technologies and the future of engineering. In line with the theme of “Engineering Innovation for a Resilient World,” a poster-making competition was held. Participants demonstrated their artistic skills by creating visually striking poster that depicted the application of engineering principles in creating a resilient and sustainable future. The students performed a skit representing life on engineers.

The event featured an inspiring address by Dr. D. K Gupta, Principal MBS who highlighted the contributions of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and other prominent engineers. The audience gained valuable insights into the remarkable achievements and invaluable contributions of these visionaries.

To provide further guidance and encouragement, Prof. Parveen Singh (Dean Academics) addressed the audience, stressing the significance of Engineers. Other dignitaries present in the event were Dr. Amrik Singh (Vice Principal), S. Hardip Singh Gill (DSW), Heads of the Departments and all the faculty members.

Engineering Day was conclude with the prize distribution ceremony, wherein Mandeep Singh (ME), Vishal Nagpal (EE)  and Suksham (EE) secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively for speech competition while Manpreet Kour (ECE), Mannat Abrol (CSE) and Akansha Thapa (EE) secured 1st, 2nd and  3rd prize respectively  for  poster-making competition.

The programme was anchored by Manpreet Singh (7th sem, CSE) and Shriya Sambyal  (5th Sem CSE). The event was organized by the convener Ms. Shivangi Gupta and coordinators Mr. Ripu Daman Singh, Mr. Satish Kumar Sharma, Ms. Saravjeet Kour and Ms. Inderpreet Kour. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Shivangi Gupta.

MBS organized two days workshop on Fundamentals of Python programming

MBS College of Engineering & Technology organized a two days workshop on Fundamentals of Python programming on 27th and 28th July 2023 in collaboration with Winnovation Education Services Pvt. Ltd. The workshop was conducted for the students of 2nd Semester 2022 Batch who actively participated to learn the basics of Python programming. The Resource Person, Mr. Anil Raina from Winnovation helped the students to learn python from basic installation to advance concept and made them practically understand the program and its potential in industry today.

MBS College of Engineering & Technology in association with Industry Leading Education Company “Winnovation Education Services Pvt Ltd “ Gurgaon has opened the Lab at MBS Jammu Campus on 21 July 2023. Inauguration ceremony was done by His Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Jee, Sole Trustee along with S. Gurnam Singh, Chairman, S. Lakhbir Singh Bawa (Advisor) and Prof. (Dr.) D.S.Pundhir Principal of MBSCET. From Winnovation Management – Sarbarinder Singh (Director), Navdeep Singh (Sales & Marketing Manager), Ayush (Manager Industry Alliance), Kanika (Manager Academy) and Anil (Lead Trainer ) were present. Industry Presence was graced by Dinesh Kumar -Director India and Saarc SOTI INDIA.

The lab will run all Emerging Technology Courses on huge demand such as Data Sciences, AI/ML, BlockChain, IOT, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Mobility, Cloud Computing, AR/VR and other such Areas on Campus with Industry Association. More than 25 Companies are participating in the Corporate Employability Program on Building Talent on Emerging Technologies. Students at MBS can do Live Projects, Live Internships, Short Term Certifications, Full stack Emerging Technology Courses, Boot Camps with Industry, Professional Development and Corporate grooming.

Dr. Amrik Singh (Vice Principal) summarized the event as Landmark development and said Industry has now come to MBS Campus and students can develop their skills to become industry savvy. On June 10, 2023, Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology, a premier educational institution dedicated to fostering excellence in engineering and technology, organized a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM).

The meeting aimed to bridge the gap between parents, students, and faculty members, recognizing the crucial role of parental involvement in shaping a student’s academic journey. By facilitating direct communication between parents and teachers, the college sought to foster a strong support system that would promote student success and holistic development.

During the occasion, guardians communicated their genuine appreciation for the college’s proactive drive in arranging the PTM. They acknowledged that the meeting had given them a chance to have an open conversation, which helped them better comprehend their wards academic progress, strengths, and weaknesses. In addition, the PTM made it possible for parents to actively participate in the development of efficient strategies for their children’s academic and personal development.

Parents and teachers engaged in lively discussions for academic performance, extracurricular activities, career guidance, and overall well-being. Parents were able to seek guidance and advice from seasoned educators during the interactive sessions, allowing them to make informed decisions regarding their wards future.

Additionally, the parents appreciated the initiatives taken by the college for conducting workshops, seminars, and extracurricular activities, which aim to improve students’ overall educational experience and career prospects.

Principal, Dr. D. S Pundhir emphasized the significance of parental involvement in a student’s educational journey. He said, “We firmly believe that collaboration between parents and teachers is essential for students’ overall development.”

Vice Principal Dr. Amrik Singh and Dean (Academics) Prof. Parveen Singh thanked all the parents who attended the PTM, which was a huge success. MBSCET Jammu Successfully Conducted 2 days Workshop on ChatGPT

MBS College of Engineering & Technology Jammu, in association with Winnovation Education Services Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon successfully concluded two-day workshop on ChatGPT. The workshop held on May 31 and June 1, 2023 commenced with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Ridhika Sharma (HOD CSE), who expressed her gratitude to the participants for their enthusiastic response followed by Dr. Amrik Singh (Vice Principal) who emphasized the importance of staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field of artificial intelligence.

Winnovation is a reputed education and training company based at Gurgaon dedicated to empowering individuals and institutions with the latest knowledge and skills in emerging technologies to meet the gap between industry and institute for better placement.

Mr. Gaurang Sharma a distinguished guest speaker, Production Engineer at C&R Software, delivered an insightful session during the workshop. Mr. Sharma’s industry experience and deep understanding of the subject matter enriched the learning experience for all participants. The workshop catered the need of students from the 4th and 6th semesters of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) departments.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the hands-on experience provided to the participants. They were given the opportunity to engage directly with ChatGPT, gaining practical exposure to its functionalities and applications. On the second day, a small project demonstrating the implementation of ChatGPT was showcased, enabling participants to witness its potential in real-world scenario.

Mrs. Ridhika Sharma concluded the workshop with a vote of thanks, expressing her gratitude to all the participants, guest speaker, and organizing committee. She also extended her appreciation to Mr. Sarbarinder Singh, Director of Winnovation Education Services Pvt Ltd, for their valuable collaboration and support in organizing the event. Dr. Amrik Singh shared his final words and insights, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in shaping the future of technology education.

MBSCET Organizes Blood Donation Camp

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu in Collaboration with J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society and Guru Nanak Langar Mission organized a blood donation camp in the college campus which was inaugurated by S. Gurnam Singh Chairman MBSCET accompanied by  S. Lakhbir Singh Bawa.

Er. Sudhir Sethi President J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society and Er. Baljeet Singh, Guru Nanak Langar Mission thanked the college management for organizing blood donation camp, who participated in the camp along with their team. Dr. Taseer and staff from GMC, Jammu supervised the camp.

NSS unit of the college alongwith its voluntears & donors did commendable job in making this event a great success. More than fifty (50) units of blood were donated for this noble cause.
