Youth Parliament

Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology organized Youth Parliament 2026 in the college auditorium with great enthusiasm and active participation from students.

The event commenced with a welcome and opening address by Prof. Praveen Singh (Dean Academics), in his address, he highlighted the importance of Youth Parliament as a platform for students to understand democratic values, develop leadership qualities, and enhance their debating and analytical skills. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee comprising students of the 6th Semester, CSE Department, under the leadership of Ms. Jasdeep Kour, for successfully organizing the event.

A total of 40 students participated in the Youth Parliament Session. Among them, 20 students represented the Ruling Party and 20 students represented the Opposition Party, replicating the structure of a democratic parliamentary system. The participants engaged in a meaningful and thought-provoking debate on the agenda “National Security & Cyber Laws – Regulation of Social Media for Minors.” The discussions reflected the students’ awareness of contemporary national issues and their ability to present logical arguments in a parliamentary manner.

The event provided an excellent platform for students to express their views, strengthen their public speaking abilities, and understand the functioning of democratic institutions.

The session concluded with an address by the Principal, Prof.(Dr.) Amrik Singh, who appreciated the initiative taken by the students and encouraged them to continue participating in such academic and intellectual activities. He emphasized that events like Youth Parliament help in shaping students into responsible and aware citizens.

Following the concluding address, prizes were distributed to the best performers and participants in recognition of their outstanding performance during the debate.

The event concluded successfully with active participation and appreciation from faculty members and students.
