Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology (MBSCET) Jammu organized industrial visit for the students of 7th semester, Electrical Engineering Department at Salal Power Station Reasi, which is first hydropower project of the J&K state and was commissioned in 1996 on the Chenab River by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).
Mr. KasimRazi, Sr. Manager (Electrical) and Mr. Bodh Priya Ashok, Asstt.Manager (Electrical) explained the students about the design of the project contained a two stage powerhouse generating 690 MW of power. He also apprised that J&K (UT) receives 34.39 percent of the energy and rest is distributed to other states like Punjab (26.60%), Haryana (15.02%), Delhi (11.62%), Uttar Pradesh (6.95%), Rajasthan (2.95%), Uttarakhand (1.21%), Himachal Pradesh (0.99%), and Chandigarh (0.27%). The learning session was followed by interactive Questions & Answers round, wherein the students shared their queries.The officials and Students of MBSCET expressed gratitude to officers of power stationfor making aware with different technical aspects ofSalalHydroelectric Power Station.
Prof. Amrik Singh (Vice-Principal), Mr. H. S. Gill (Director Student Welfare), Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Singh (Head, Electrical Engineering Department), Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Langer, Prof. Inderpreet Kour also accompanied the students and coordinated with the officers of power station.
25 Students from M.B.S.C.E.T were shortlisted in “Startup Weekend” program organized by Indian Army in Technology Business Incubation Center (TBIC), SMVDU, Katra for innovative ideas, minimum viable product, prototype creation & drives sales through effective communication on 20th, 21st & 22nd of September, 2019. Prof. Ravinder Kr. Bhardwaj, Head (Training & Placement Cell) had coordinated the stuents for the event.
Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu in collaboration with EQUATE India, New Delhi organized three days workshop on “Meeting Challenges of Accreditation by NBA” held on 13th to 15th September, 2019.
In his address, Prof. (Dr.) D. S. Pundhir highlighted the importance of Accreditation of an Institution.
Dr. R. N. Mathur (Founder President) & Dr. Rajni Bhatnagar (Managing Director) delivered lectures and also made presentation to all the faculty members & Heads of Departments to showcase the importance of being accreditated institution. Experts conducted interactive session to follow the steps of NBA Accreditation to improve the quality standards of teaching in Engineering College and also focused on teaching learning process.
In the end of the workshop, Prof. (Dr.) Amar Singh Sudan Chairman, MBSCET, motivated to all faculty members to achieve their respective goals regarding NBA Accreditation. Valedictory function was organized in which Prof. (Dr.) Amar Singh Sudan awarded certificates to the participating faculty members. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Amrik Singh (Vice Principal)
